The Farrow Road Corridor Initiative
The vision for the Farrow Road Corridor is to create commercial, residential, and institutional development in this underserved community. The first step is this 21 unit Single-Family Subdivision on the site of the former Burton Elementary School.
On behalf of the Eau Claire Development Corporation, FAJC developed this residential development located along Farrow Road in Columbia, SC. This redevelopment project consists of new 1,600 square foot single-family residences. The use of existing zoning allows the clustering of homes while preserving public open space. The neighborhood was designed and engineered to be a pedestrian oriented. Tree-lined sidewalks, shaded seating and play areas, spacious front porches, well lighted streets with traditional light poles and fixtures and landscaped open space will most certainly add a traditional neighborhood flavor to this portion of the Farrow Road corridor.

By its very nature, successful projects demand careful coordination. Departments and agencies that do not ordinarily work together must communicate and coordinate their work plans. The Williamsburg Enterprise Community Commission, Inc. (“WECC”) benefited from the F.A. Johnson Consulting Group, Inc.’s careful coordination of infrastructure improvements through two Federal Agencies, One State Agency, and the South Carolina Association of Community Development Corporations for the development of a residential subdivision.
