Public healthOn behalf of the RICHMOND COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH, the F.A. Johnson Consulting Group, Inc. (“FAJC”) served as Management/Development Consultant for the 45,000 square foot Laney Walker Clinic. This facility created 100 new jobs in the low-income Laney Walker corridor. The project cost $7 Million. This included land acquisition, construction, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment. This project was completed in 2000 on time and $200,000 under budget.

RichmondPreviously, FAJC conducted a space needs study of the EAST CENTRAL HEALTH DISTRICT (consisting of 13 counties) and the RICHMOND COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT. Based on the results of that study, FAJC served as Development Manager for the relocation of the East Central Health District central office to the North Leg facility in Augusta, Georgia. FAJC located the central office in a “campus-like” facility with six buildings consisting of 30,000 square feet. FAJC negotiated a $2 Million lease purchase acquisition agreement, oversaw the rehabilitation of the facility, and managed the move-in process. The rehabilitation was achieved under budget.

Similarly, FAJC negotiated the lease and rehabilitation of a 15,000 square foot West Augusta clinic under budget. FAJC located three facilities, negotiated leases and managed the rehabilitation of three (3) satellite clinics for TB, Children’s medical and dental clinics. All were completed under budget.

FAJC currently serves as development manager for the construction of a 15,000 square foot South Augusta Clinic. The estimated project cost for this facility is $2,200,000. FAJC also serves as the Consulting Facility Manager for all of the above properties since Richmond County and the East Central offices do not have facility management departments. All of these services are privatized. In this capacity, FAJC prepared a Facility Management Manual that includes all operating procedures (i.e. fire, work orders, maintenance of buildings and grounds, security, operational budgets, and renegotiations of leases).
